I hail from Texas and am a lifelong sailor. I passed through San Diego in 2011 on my way South to Mexico on Luna Sea, my 37-foot sailboat. San Diego appealed to me and after 4 years of cruising Latin American waters, my wife and I returned to San Diego for a change. Before crusing in Mexico and points south, I lived and worked in Santa Cruz and the Bay Area (Alameda) for many years. I have two siblings, brothers, who reside in Texas, four adult children scattered around the U.S. and a wife, Nina. I enjoy traveling, reading and sailing. Currently, I hold a 50 ton MMC with the Coast Guard and am collecting sea time towards my 100 ton MMC.

Being born and raised in San Diego, I have been around the water my whole life, starting out at age 12 on local sport fishing boats, and then moving on to the Tuna and ALbacore boats after High School. Fishing from Panama to Alaska. Most recently, I worked in the Gulf of Mexico on supply vessels in the oil field. Working on the SEAL gives me the chance to be on the water almost every day.

I started out an infant in Schenectady, NY. One December, when I was playing in the snow, I decided I didn’t like the cold, told my parents I was moving to San Diego and if they wanted to come along, they were invited. They did, we moved. I was raised in Chula Vista. I was fortunate enough to go to Castle Park High School, where for the better part of the 60s, we clobbered Sweetwater on about every endeavor. I still live in Chula Vista with my wife and two children.
